Emilia has been living in Yogyakarta for the past three years. She studies Cirebonese mask dance in Yogyakarta and Indramayu, works with the artist collective Taring Padi at their children’s library, and teaches yoga in her home. Emilia has a B.F.A. in Theater and Original Works from Seattle, Washington, and is interested in experimental performance that breaks the standard rules of theater, incorporating movement, music, dance and the use of masks and sculpture. Through performance she strives to explore the absurdism of human situations, both in a socio-political and cultural context.
